Collection: Workshops

Your instructor Laura Beth K. has taught and worked in facilities such as the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Penland School of Crafts and the Corning Museum of Glass, and we are thrilled to have her teaching at the studio.

We have two levels of workshop to choose from:

Level 1: Beginner and Refresher

Chimes or Floral Wall Hangings

In this workshop, you’ll use handbuilding techniques to make a beautiful piece of art for your home! Choose from several wall hanging styles, then personalize your design using colored stoneware clay and other surface decorations. This is an introductory workshop, so no previous clay experience is required. Just bring your best self and join us for some fun!

So… what’s next?

Level 2: Some Ceramics Experience

Poly Forms

With some tips & tricks, you will learn how to translate a 2D polygon pattern into a 3D vessel! As an advanced introduction to handbuilding, you will choose from pattern options to construct a vessel such as a cup, bowl or small dish. There will be many options to personalize your art piece and also make it food safe. Since this is an advanced introductory workshop, we recommend coming with experience from one of our Level 1 workshops.

One-on-one experiences include private, customized instruction with clay, stained glass OR glass fusing! While learning at your own pace, you receive focused attention from a qualified instructor. During your experience, any and all questions are encouraged!

Beginners benefit by learning basic techniques and build a strong foundation for working with ceramics or glassmaking. Experienced artists can expand their skill set by focusing on specific projects or honing skills. You design the program with your instructor to fit your creative goals.
